We applaud the first lady over her exceptional and heroic step to run a 42 kilometres to warrant mothers and their newborn children access renowned Healthcare.
On Sunday the First Lady Mrs. Margaret Kenyatta, the wife to the serving Kenya President makes it in history as he joined with exclusive athletics in participating and finishing the London Marathon. It all started with a single step and the rest was history, as she completed her 42 Kilometres race in 7hours.
Well, 42 kilometres at age of 50 isn’t an easy plead if I may say, it involves pure spirit and a lot of willpower, but going by her lines she alters that, “together we can make a change” I was certain she was in for it.
And her reason for running in the admired London Marathon was to raise funds to support the enactment of various platforms that will enhance easy access to HIV prevention, motherly and kid health care services in Kenya via Beyond Zero Foundation.
The Beyond Zero campaign expects to diminish the number of deaths to zero, and this is the reason why the First
Lady joins with Government, individuals, private, health and international organizations in her effort to provide fruitful outcomes in motherly and child mortality as well as HIV/AIDS.
The main focus of the Foundation is to arm all the 47 counties with mobile clinics, so that health amenities are gotten closer to those that require them. We all know there are critical challenges that impede access to maternal and child health services, and it’s therefore, why the Foundation intends to fund various encounters facing underprivileged Kenyans and end avoidable death amongst women and children, and giving fresh push to the battle against HIV/AIDS.
